JIM NABORS - Sylacauga, Alabama
- Graduate of the University of Alabama
- Played Gomer Pyle on the Andy Griffith Show and then for five years on the spin-off, Gomer Pyle, USMC
- Recorded over 35 albums, including five gold and one platinum
- Jim was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1991.
- Rarely has a performer had a number one rated situation comedy, a top ten variety show, a talk show and several television specials, a recording career, acted in movies for the big screen and television, performed in stage productions and innumerable concerts.
- Inducted into the Alabama Music Hall of Fame in 2001
"BILL" NAPPI - Birmingham, Alabama
- Band leader, trumpeter and composer who led one of Birmingham's most popular jazz bands from the 1930s - 1970s.
- His big band played regularly at the Tutwiler Hotel in the 30's, and in the 40's, held concerts in several Birmingham parks every Sunday for nearly twenty years.
- One highlight of Nappi's long career was a trip to Hollywood to play at several movie studios.
- Nappi's theme song was "My Buddy".
MARK NARMORE - Center Star, Alabama
- Narmore's first Top 10 hit came when Shenandoah recorded "The Moon Over Georgia".
- He scored a # 3 hit with the song "Like There Ain't No Yesterday" by Blackhawk.
- Other artists recording Narmore penned songs include, Michelle Wright "Crank My Tractor", Marie Osmond "What Makes You Think I Think Of You", Don Cox "Month Of Sundays", and Jett Williams "I Am What I Am".
CLIFF NOBLES - Mobile, Alabama
- 1968 #2 R&B hit "The Horse"
- Had follow-up singles "The Mule" and "Horse Fever"
- Returned to the charts in 1973 with "Feeling Of Loneliness"
BOBBY NUNN - Birmingham, Alabama
- Original member of the Coasters formed in 1955
- The Coasters first charted with "Down In Mexico" (R&B Top 10) in 1956.
- The double-sided hit from 1957, "Searchin" (R&B number 1 and pop number 3) and "Young Blood" (R&B number 2 and pop Top 10) established the group as major rock 'n roll stars
- Nunn left the group after the hit "Yakety Yak" (R&B and pop number 1) in 1958.
EARL NUNN - , Alabama
- Earl Nunn and His Alabama Ramblers featuring Billy Lee debuted in Billboard Magazine's Country Chart in April 1949 with "Double Talkin' Woman."
- As a songwriter, his biggest success came with a song he co-wrote titled "Smoke On the Water."
- The song went to #1 on the Country Chart by both Red Foley in 1944 and Bob Wills in 1945. Boyd Heath's version of the song went to #7 in 1945.
