GMANE

GMANE is an underground rapper from a small town in the South who owns and operates Alabama Hustle Unlimited. Born Geoffrey Keith Robinson in Florence, Alabama, he made his name with the independent group/label Slave Kamp Music in the 90’s. He subsequently made the jump to Straight Off Da Chain/Select O Hits in early 2000 for the release of the critically acclaimed album “Collector’s Item”. Taking matters into his own hands, he returned to the underground rap scene with his newly formed Alabama Hustle Unlimited in 2003. Newly inspired, he worked to build an audience for himself via the internet and mixtapes.

Hailed as “The Godfather of Shoals Area Hip Hop”, GMANE has recorded over 30 albums & mixtapes, done countless features, and built such a strong audience that his work has allowed him to tour and record internationally in Malmo Stockholm and Landskrona, Sweden as well as Copenhagen, Denmark. He’s been featured in online publications such as Forbes.com, Complex and SPIN; Received mentions and written for Ozone and Murder Dog Magazines; participant of SXSW Festival (Austin, Tx); featured in the book “Gangsta Gumbo” (written by Charlie Braxton and Jean Pierre Labarthe on great southern lyricists); Curator of the Hip Hop Exhibit and Black History 2020 for the Alabama Music Hall of Fame; Lecturer on the History of Shoals Area Hip Hop with The American Music Society and the University of North Alabama; has a featured single “Relaxin”, with group G-Side, on Rockstar Games: Grand Theft Auto V. He is also the owner of Uncle G's Gourmet Cookies, Keep Your God Up merchandise, and co-owns The Pruitt Robinson Agency (PR and multimedia) with his wife Kym.

A community advocate for the homeless and the youth, GMane serves on the board of Crossroads Community Outreach and mentored at the local Boys & Girls clubs. He also has his own philanthropic "Coats for Kids" and "Feed the Shoals" events during the holidays and gives to several charities and organizations advocating for the youth.
