Gadsden, Alabama native Bill Elton has conducted Broadway scores such as "Bye Bye Birdie," "Evita," "How To Succeed In Business Without Trying," and "The Wiz."
Elton arranged and played on the Tony Awards for over 15 years. He was awarded an Emmy for composition and arrangement of music for Princess Grace's last appearance at "Night of 100 Stars." Bill Elton has collaborated with Steve Allen as an arranger and has conducted musicals on the West Coast.
As a musician he has played with Dizzy Gillespie, Bob Brookmeyer, Al Cohn, Zoot Sims, Phil Woods, Ralph Burns, Don Costa, and Peter Matz. He as appeared with Miles Davis and Gil Evans on PBS, and recorded with Tony Bennett, Rosemary Clooney, Sinatra, Streisand and many others.
