Born in the musical town and tradition of Muscle Shoals, Alabama on Christmas Day 1982, this attractive young lady showed her love for singing almost immediately. By the time she turned eight, Alecia Elliott knew that she was destined to be an entertainer.

At age nine, Alecia got the chance of a lifetime, when Lorrie Morgan heard a tape of Alecia and invited her to perform a concert duet. By the time she was eleven, standing ovations at Buddy Killen's Stockyard were the norm for Alecia. Her outstanding performances were rewarded by an invitation to sing at the 1995 Grand Ole Opry Inaugural Concert for Governor Don Sundquist.

It didn't take long for Alecia to make her way into the Nashville office of MCA Chairman Bruce Hinton and President Tony Brown. At the time, Bruce and Tony agreed that 12 year old Alecia showed great talent, but that she needed a little more life experience before making a career in the music business. They told Alecia to come back in three years, knowing some other label would snatch her up and take advantage of her youth. But surprisingly, Alecia held out for MCA and showed up on the label's doorstep three years later as requested. MCA immediately signed her to a deal and began work on her first album.

Produced by Tony Brown and Jeff Teague, Alecia's debut album was recorded in Nashville at the Sound Emporium and completed in May 1999. The as yet untitled album contains eleven songs including two songs co-written by Alecia, "I'm Waiting For You" and "You Wanna What?" Other stand-outs include the first single, "I'm Diggin' It," which will be released to radio September 1999, and "Some People Fall, Some People Fly," which was written and previously recorded by Matraca Berg with Randy Scruggs. The album was released in January 2000.

Alecia has toured Europe, sung beneath the national Christmas Tree on the White House Lawn, and performed at a variety of music festivals and concert venues across America. She has taken the stage with a list of artists that include: Pam Tillis, Brenda Lee, Loretta Lynn, Billy Ray Cyrus, Lari White, Shenandoah, Collin Raye, Joe Diffie, Wade Hayes and Bebe & Cece Winans.
