Focus Field Trip

This field trip allows a student to 'focus' on a particular Alabama star as they explore the museum. Each student is given materials to make a rubbing of one of the bronze stars located in the Walk of Fame area of the museum. They are then directed to find the 'star' in the museum and record information about that person's life.

Black History Month

Each year the Hall of Fame provides a traveling exhibit for area schools highlighting the accomplishments of the many African-American achievers from the state.
In addition to special tours on the influence of Black artists, the Hall of Fame also provides a special performance program featuring one of the state's music achievers.
The program features Harvey Thompson of the famed Muscle Shoals Horns. Harvey and his Trio, with the vocal talents of Edsel Holden, trace the history of our Black musical traditions with songs by W.C. Handy, Nat "King" Cole and many others. This has become one of our most successful programs.
This year, we will have a very special guest with us, Clifton Brown.  He has very interesting information on the history and contributions that have been made by many Black artists from Alabama.
